Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER) and its partners (ITRI and CIER) organize Taiwan Innovation Policy Conference (formerly known as International Conference on Industrial Technology Innovation) once a year since year 2000. Over the last 17 years, with the continuous support from Department of Industrial Technology (DOIT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), this event gradually builds up its international reputation and connections, and has become one of the most important of its kind.
Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) can not only generate business profit and drive economic growth, but also mitigate social challenge and create better life. In the era of globalisation, people around the world are facing multiple common challenges such as energy, environment protection, health & medicine, resource efficiency. Those challenges require more of international cooperation and a multi-disciplinary / public-private partnership approach to find better solution.
For this reason, “Connecting the Globe, Co-Creating a Sustainable and Prosper Future” is set as conference agenda this year. We invite STI Policy experts from Finland, Belgium, Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Taiwan to share their valuable knowledge and experiences in relation to “STI PPP and international cooperation”. This conference encourages all participants engaging conversation more proactively. We believe proactive conversation and idea-exchange is the mother of all kinds of innovation. So we shall practice it in this two-day event, and make this conference a great international forum to STI policy communities around the globe.
