Industry and business around the globe are rapidly ushered into an era of digitalization. The convergence of all kinds of physical and cyber technology is not only creating a new wave of challenges but also propelling companies to forge ahead. The complexity and dynamics of new technology and global market is also forcing companies to reach out and look for new partners for novel endeavors. In digital transformation period, how to support business competing and cooperating in the global market, how to approach grand challenges and find win-win solutions for both public and private stakeholders are critical issues to be addressed in industry and innovation policy governance.

For this reason, “industry and innovation policy in the era of digital transformation” is set as conference agenda this year. We invite STI Policy and technology experts, and industrial practitioners from Finland, Spain, Japan and Taiwan to share their valuable knowledge and experiences in relation to digital transformation. We hope this conference can establish an international dialogue platform to draw Taiwan industry and international markets closer, and facilitate the exploration of cooperation opportunities.

Taiwan Institute of Economic Research (TIER) and its partners (ITRI and CIER) organize International Conference on Industrial Technology Innovation(ICITI) once a year since year 2000. Over the last 18 years, with the continuous support from Department of Industrial Technology (DOIT) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA), this conference builds up its international reputation and connections, and has become one of the most important event of its kind.
